CBD has been shown to interact with the human body through the endocannabinoid system — a vast network of receptors which helps us maintain overall wellness and helps keep us in good health. Found in hemp, CBD is the most abundant of more than 80+ known naturally occurring cannabinoids. Specifically, CBD comes from the flowers and leaves of the plant. (Not to be confused with oil that comes from hemp seeds, which contain zero beneficial cannabinoids).
Cannabinoids are a group of fatty compounds found in hemp. They’re also produced by the human body. Cannabinoids are the primary chemical compounds produced by the cannabis plant. These compounds are key players in normal immune and central nervous system functioning. The endocannabinoid system (found within the human body) has natural receptors for these compounds and use cannabinoids to support cells and a healthy immune system, despite fluctuations in our external environment.
Hemp and Marijuana are both members of the cannabis family. The main difference between hemp and marijuana is the amount of THC. Marijuana contains, THC, that’s the stuff responsible for producing a high. Hemp, on the other hand produces no euphoric effect and has *zero detectable THC.
